What is Tapioca? Some would say that tapioca, or the balls, is a drug due to its highly addictive nature. However, the truth of the matter is that tapioca, as found at Teahouse, is no more than a ball of starch. Traditional tapioca delicacies such as tapioca pudding exhibit a translucent yet milky appearance.
This is not the case with the tapioca found at Teahouse as we kick the tapioca up a notch in both flavor and appearance by adding a specially prepared dark brown sugar and caramel to the recipe. This kick gives our tapioca a more robust flavor and renders the color to a very dark brown, making it easily visible in almost every Teahouse drink and a lot more fun to play with!
Tapioca can be added to any Teahouse beverage and we highly recommend adding it to any drink to enhance the experience. Thousands of Teahouse customers can't be wrong!
What is Cream Tea? Cream tea is a blend of non-dairy (lactose-free) creamer and Jasmine Green or Black tea. This blend makes our cream tea smoother, creamier, tastier and gastronomically friendlier than the more popular milk tea. Although, if milk tea is your cup of tea, we do have, in lieu of non-dairy creamer, whole milk, 2% milk, skim milk, half and half, soy milk, condensed milk and probably a few more since this was written.
Each cup of cream tea is prepared with hot tea and can be prepared with any amount of sugar (or sugar substitute yes we have a big long list of those too) or creamer specified. We then add ice and a sinker, a.k.a. tapioca or any of the many other items that sink to the bottom of the cup (another big long list), seal the cup, shake and serve. Still bewildered as to what we're talking about? You'll just have to come on in and try one for yourself. If you're not fully satisfied, we'll make you one of our other 160+ drinks at no extra cost until you are!
